Week in Review (4/4/2007)
I’m posting the weekly review a tad early since Mike and I are both headed to New Orleans for my bachelor party. Jazz Fest is in its last week and the timing works out perfectly so we decided to hit the Big Easy for the party. Most of my friends have scattered to the winds so it would be a “destination party” no matter where we had it.
I haven’t been down there since Katrina and I’ll post pictures when I’m back on Tuesday. We’ll have a car and I’d like to travel out into the city a bit to see how goes the cleanup.
Stuff from last week:
- Schwab named longtime executive Walt Bettinger as its new president. They also announced another $500 million stock buy-back. I guess we don’t have to worry about what they’re doing with the US Trust proceeds.
- Advent launched a new product called Revenue Center which is “an advanced billing and revenue management tool that enables asset management organizations to control and streamline the billing process.”
- Investment Advisor Magazine announced their Top 25 Influential People In Our Industry for 2007 list which includes Arnold Schwarzenegger. Really? The Governator made the list?
Have a nice weekend!
